Combine all ingredients in a tin and fill with ice. Hard shake and double strain into a chilled coupe.
*For the basil syrup: Blanch a generous handful of basil in boiling water for 15 seconds then immediately transfer to an ice bath to cool. Pat dry with paper towels. Make a 1:1 simple syrup with plain sugar and boiling water. Once the syrup is cool, add to a blender and add the basil with the stems removed. Blend until smooth. Fine strain and refrigerate until ready to use.
