Cranberry Shrub: 
  • 3 cups cranberries 
  • 2 1/2 cups pure cane sugar 
  • 1/2 to 1 cup apple cider vinegar (can be adjusted to taste) 
  • 5 cloves 
  • 2 cups water 
  • 1 teaspoon rose water   
  1. Add cranberries, sugar and water to a saucepan 
  2. Break up cloves with a muddler and add to saucepan 
  3. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat and simmer for ten minutes (make sure cranberries become soft) 
  4. Strain the mixture into a heatproof container 
  5. Once cooled, add rose water and vinegar 
  6. Allow mixture to sit for 24 hours. Use within 1 month   
**Recommend an unsweetened cranberry juice for the ice but sweetened is also fine. Fill a tray designed for 1-inch cubes with juice and leave in the freezer for 12-24 hours. Though the juice ice cubes are optional, if you do decide to make them, give the drink a good stir to incorporate all the ingredients and begin a little dilution from the cubes. Enjoy!
