Nothing about your favorite spot is changing: not the people, not the menus, not the vibe. What’s evolving is clarity. Connection. A bold new chapter.
From the beginning, Corpse Reviver was imagined as a creative extension of Durham Distillery, a place where our spirits and our stories could come to life by the glass. Named in homage to the classic gin cocktail, and as a nod to the building’s past life as a coffin shop, it was a name that felt rooted, clever, and unmistakably ours.
But over the years, we’ve heard a pattern from guests — both locals and visitors:
“Wait, Conniption is made here?”
“This is part of Durham Distillery?”
“I didn’t realize this bar was connected to the gin!”
And we get it. The pieces haven’t always been easy to connect.
This is still your bar. We remain proud to be apart of this community. Still Durham Distillery, poured by the same people, in the same place — just with a name that tells the full story.

Do I need a reservation?
For groups of 5 or less, we sadly can't reserve a spot. It's first come, first serve.
If your party is 6 or more people, we highly recommend making a reservation. It's easy to do it online!
Do you host private events?
Absolutely! If you could please get in touch with us and let us know the type of event you're planning, we'll make sure to provide you with all the logistics for reserving Conniption Bar & Lounge for your private gathering.
Do you serve dinner?
Even though we're not a fully-fledged restaurant, we have a selection of delicious appetizers and small bites that pair perfectly with your cocktails.
What are the age restrictions?
Because Conniption Bar & Lounge is Durham Distillery's on site cocktail bar, our space is only suitable for 21+ years of age.
Do you allow dogs on your patio?
While our affection for our four-legged loved ones knows no bounds, being a distillery restricts us to welcoming only service animals.
Is there parking?
You can find on-street parking on Washington and Geer Streets. Additionally, we have access to an extra parking lot located at the intersection of Washington Street and West Corporation Streets. It's a safe and quick walk and the best part is, it's free!
Parking is extremely limited parking at the rear of our building as it is shared with our neighbors, The Blue Note Grill.

We get it - the construction chaos in Durham can be a pain in the neck sometimes.
